Tassimo coffee maker troubleshooting

Most coffee maker repairs do not require professional skills or tools. All you need is patience and a reliable source of information.

There is every possibility that you will be able to fix your Tassimo coffee maker on your own if you follow the instructions you see below. Mind the model of the coffee maker you use to identify the right troubleshooting table for your machine.

Tassimo not working

There might be several causes why your tassimo not working:

  • The brewing device was blocked.
  • If the drink does not flow out from the brewing mechanism well enough, it may indicate that the appliance’s pipes are clogged with scale deposits. Call your service company.
  • If the coffee machine does not make coffee and completely ignores any commands, then it may be a sign that there are no coffee beans in the grinder or the water level in the bunker is below the minimum mark.
  • The pump may have failed.
  • The pump got clogged and does not supply water. Cleaning will help to solve the problem. Use tassimo cleaning disc for this.
  • Temperature sensor has failed. Replacement seems the only reasonable solution.

Bosch coffee maker does not turn on

This situation may occur due to various reasons:

  • Faulty power cord or electrical outlet. Faulty LED indicator lights.
  • Bosch electronic board has broken.

Tassimo machine not pumping enough water

The most likely cause of the stop is limescale building up in the container and on other components. The following video describes the descaling procedure.

Tassimo lid jammed

The Tassimo lid gets jammed due to high pressure in the system, so you need to decompress it. For more details, please, view the following video.

Tassimo barcode reader not working

  • Clean the whole part.
  • Clean the coffee disk.
  • Replace the coffee disk.
  • Not unlikely, the Tassimo barcode reader is not working because the “tape” inside has come off. To get to it, you need to disassemble the device.

Please, do not try to fix it yourself unless you have experience in that. Do not do it unless the warranty period has expired!

You can try to clean the bar code plate with a cotton stick. Repeat the procedure from time to time.

Tassimo won’t pump water

This is far less than a grave problem. The pressure valve draws water from the pump back into the container when pressure increases dramatically. This happens when debris get into the valve, so it fails to close and lets water back into the tank. As a result, your Tassimo won’t pump water. To fix it, remove the gray panel on the left (when you are facing the front panel). With the help of screwdrivers of other long and flat objects, lift the panel and press it toward the machine’s back. Remove the panel and locate the tube that connects the heater’s bottom with the water container. Pick the valve at the heater’s bottom with a pair of pliers or pincers and turn it 30 degrees clockwise. Pull it gently until the valve cover comes off and pull out the spring and the valve itself. Remove the debris, if any, and reassemble the valve. To ensure that there is no debris or dirt any more, you can run the machine without closing the panel for a while.

Tassimo error codes

Tassimo error codes signal either a necessity of descaling or lack of water in the tank.

Tassimo red light

Most likely, the device needs to be descaled. Open the water tank and check the heating element for limescale buildup.

It should be noted that older brewers do not have a descale warning light. Be sure to clean and descale your brewer once per three months. This will prevent damage and prolong its life.

THE RED INDICATOR LIGHT IS BLINKING

This light comes on and flashes when water level in the tank is too low. In this case, the machine will not be able to make a drink. Also, the error appears when the tank is not positioned properly. Fill the tank and be sure that the water is fresh, clean and not softened.

Tassimo error messages

Error messages in Tassimo coffeemakers appear in the form of lights burning or flashing.

If you see the red light burning steadily, the machine needs to be descaled.

If the red light is blinking, the tank needs to be refilled with water: the machine will not make coffee unless there is enough water in the tank.

If all the lights are on, the system requires a serious repair. Please, use professional help.
