THE COFFEE IS NOT BREWINGThe appliance is unplugged.PLUG UNIT IN.
There’s a power outage.WAIT FOR POWER TO BE RESTORED.
The water reservoir is empty.CHECK THE WATER WINDOWS.
The filter basket is not properly inserted.INSERT FILTER BASKET CORRECTLY
The decanter is not placed all the way on the warming plate.PLACE DECANTER CORRECTLY ON WARMING PLATE.
THE COFFEEMAKER ONLY BREWS WATERThere are no coffee grounds in the filter basket.ADD THE DESIRED AMOUNT OF COFFEE TO THE FILTER.
THE COFFEEMAKER BREWS SLOWLYThe coffeemaker needs cleaning.CLEAN COFFEEMAKER AS DESCRIBED IN “CLEANING AND MAINTAINING” SECTION.
THE FILTER BASKET OVERFLOWSThe filter basket is not properly inserted.INSERT FILTER BASKET CORRECTLY.
The decanter is not placed all the way on the warming plate.PLACE DECANTER CORRECTLY ON WARMING PLATE.
The decanter lid is not on decanter.PLACE LID ON THE DECANTER.
Too many coffee grounds were placed in the filter.REMOVE FILTER DISCARD GROUNDS. IF PAPER FILTER, REPLACE. IF PERMANENT FILTER, RINSE. BEGIN BREWING PROCESS AGAIN.
The decanter was removed from the warming plate for more than 30 seconds.TURN OFF AND UNPLUG THE UNIT. ALLOW TO COOL. WIPE UP THE SPILL. DO NOT SET HOT DECANTER BACK ON THE WET WARMING PLATE OR IT MIGHT CRACK.
THE COFFEE IS NOT HOTThere’s a power outage.WAIT FOR POWER TO BE RESTORED.
Auto SHUT- OFF has been activated.FOR BEST RESULTS, BREW A FRESH POT OF COFFEE.
THE COFFEE TASTES BADCoffee grounds other than for an automatic drip coffeemaker were used.USE COFFEE GROUNDS RECOMMENDED FOR AUTOMATIC DRIP COFFEEMAKERS.
The ground coffee-to- water ratio was unbalanced.USE CORRECT GROUND COFFEE-TO- WATER RATIO.
The coffeemaker needs cleaning.CLEAN COFFEEMAKER AS DESCRIBED IN "MAINTAINING YOUR COFFEEMAKER” SECTION.
THE GROUNDS ARE IN THE COFFEEThe filter is not properly seated in the basket.SEAT FILTER PROPERLY WITHIN THE FILTER BASKET.
The filter collapsed.REMOVE FILTER AND REPLACE.

Coffee does not come out• No water in reservoir.• Add water.
• Coffee grind is too fine.• Grind coffee medium ground.
• Too much coffee in the filter.• Fill filter with less coffee.
• Appliance was not turned on or plugged in.• Plug unit into electrical outlet. Turn it on.
• Coffee has been tamped/ compressed too much.• Refill filter basket with coffee DO NOT TAMP.
Coffee comes out around the edge of the filter holder• Filter holder not rotated to full lock position.• Rotate filter holder to full lock position.
• Coffee grounds around the filter basket rim.• Wipe off rim.
• Too much coffee in the filter basket.• Fill with less coffee.
No steam is generated• Water reservoir is empty.• Fill reservoir with correct amount of water.
• Appliance is not turned on.• Turn on unit and follow the operating instructions.
• Frothing tube is blocked.• Following frothing stage, operate frothing function for 1 - 2 seconds to extract excess milk. Or, turn off unit, allow unit to cool, unplug unit and clean out frothing tube with a needle or toothpick.
Milk is not foamy after frothing• Ran out of steam.• Ensure there is enough water in the reservoir.
• Milk is not cold enough.• Chill milk and frothing pitcher prior to making cappuccino.
Coffee comes out too quickly• Ground coffee is too coarse.• Use a finer grind.
• Not enough coffee in filter basket.• Use more coffee.
Coffee is too weak• Using small filter for two demitasses• Use large filter for two demitasses
• Too much water is used• Manually stop the brew earlier by turning the side knob clockwise to the off position.
• Ground coffee is too coarse• Use a finer grind
